Lots of New Things and a FREEBIE!!

Hi all, I have have been a little MIA on the blog front lately. I will "blame" it on the holidays! We had a fabulous Christmas! My favorite time of year. For all the years we have been "dreaming of a white Christmas" we have made up for it this year!! There is so much snow on the ground, it will be here until spring comes! Lots of snow men waiting to come to life.

I wanted to show you all my latest kit first...Sarai.

This kit is inspired by yet another woman of the bible. The wife of Abram. Before they were known as Abraham and Sarah, they were Abram and Sarai. Although her beauty does not define her in the bible, Sarah was a beautiful woman. We know this because Abraham, in fear for his life, tells kings of the countries he is passing through that Sarah is his sister (not entirely a lie!!) so that his life will be spared. He is in fear that when the kings see Sarah, they will will kill him to have her. Besides being beautiful, Abrahm and Sarah are very wealthy. They have so many possessions that he and his nephew Lot split up so there will be no arguing among themselves and their followers about whose is whose and so on. What more could Sarah want? The only thing she doesn't have, a child and an heir to Abraham. Even though God tells Abraham his offspring will be too numerous to count, Sarah has doubts that she will be the one to fulfill this plan. She gives her servant to Abraham so she may bear him a child. Even though this plan works, it is not Gods plan. Through all of her hope and doubts, in their old age, the Lord blesses her and Abraham with a son, Issac. Gods timing is perfect. He uses his timing to his glory. Talk about a testimony! This wealthy, beautiful woman goes all of her life barren, desperate for a child heir and when she is old and past child bearing age, here comes Issac! Another fabulous story from the bible!

I love the rich colors of this kit. It came together beautifully. I see Sarah as beautiful, wealthy, hopeful and doubtful at the same time and very understated. I hope you like it! I have also released Mary!

Mary, the mother of our Savior, needs little introduction! What an incredible joy and burden to be chosen for this task! This young lady, engaged to Joseph, was chosen to carry the Christ child. Of course God knows what he is doing, but imagine the scandal. Joseph must have been hurt and upset because he had in mind to break off the engagement, or divorce her. Engagement was as good as being married in those days. But he also loved her because he was planning to do it quietly for Mary's sake. She could have been stoned to death for such an offence. God spoke to Joseph through a dream and he decided to stick it out! Even after Jesus was born and that scandal had passed, I wonder what it would be like to be the mother of Jesus? What would it be like to raise him? When he was a grown man and ready to show the world who he was, Mary must have been filled with pride and torment. Seeing the wonderful person he was, knowing that he was her son, yet seeing all the rejection he was facing. It had to tear at her heart strings. She had known all along who he was, but he was also her son. To see him crucified must have ripped her apart. Jesus knew this and so he asked John to care for her. Marys joy and her burden were all wrapped up in her son Jesus. What a privilege.

Eve, the mother of all living, is the inspiration of my newest kit. I don't think she needs much introduction, but feel free to brush up with the first four chapters of Genesis!! I can't imagine how beautiful the garden of Eden must have been, but with God's limitless imagination, it must have been a sight to behold. That is what I wanted to portray with this kit and so I went with a rather colorful palette. I hope you enjoy! Meet Ruth and Find a Free QP

Meet Ruth ...

I guess I have been divinely inspired to continue with a series about women of the Bible. Their stories fascinate me. This time around we are going with the book of Ruth.

Ruth was a woman who was widowed at a young age. Her mother-in-law, Naomi, was also widowed. Naomi lost her husband and her two sons. Some time after these losses, Naomi decides to head back to the country she was from. Even though she tells her daughter-in-laws to return to their families, Ruth moves forward with her. She is very dedicated to helping her mother-in-law, even though she is leaving everything she knows behind. In this new land, Ruth is socially considered at the bottom of the ladder. They are not very receptive to foreigners. She goes out to beg farmers to let her work in the fields behind their paid workers just so she can gather anything they drop for her and her mother-in-law to eat. This is dangerous considering she is a woman alone and a foreigner. She comes to the fields of Boaz. He has heard much about her already and is very kind to her. He loves the character that she shows even in the position she is in. He lets her work behind her crew, tells them to leave extra for her and tells the men to leave her alone.

Through the season she works for him. Naomi tells Ruth about Boaz and the wonderful man that he is. She directs Ruth to be bold and ask Boaz to be her kinsman redeemer" (you may have to look that one up if you are unsure of what that means!) He is pleased and figures out how to work this out immediately. They are married shortly after this and have a son named Obed.

All the people who thought little of Ruth in the beginning of the story, fall in love with her and tell Naomi that she is better than seven sons!!

I felt like Ruth was a little more down to earth than Esther. I chose the earthy grunge feel for her. It turned out to be a beautiful kit. I hope she would be proud!! Here is it...

Here is a new kit that I am totally excited about. I love the colors and the richness of this kit. It is inspired by the story of Esther in the Bible. A lovely young lady with a beautiful heart who was orphaned as a girl and raised by her cousin. She was brought to the temple along with all the young beautiful virgins for King Xerxes. He was to choose a wife and the Queen of Persia from these girls. Esther won the hearts of many in the palace including the King. She was crowned Queen. Later she is called upon to make a choice. Her cousin reminds her that she may be in this position for such a time as this. She chooses to go to the King with her plea, even though it may cost her her life. A brave young woman determined to do the right thing even if it means death.

I love the story and the characters. I hope you enjoy the kit. It is in both of my stores - Scrap it Sassy and Just Digilightful. It will be on sale for 25% off until the end of October.

This is my son from a couple of years ago visiting his patriotic grandparents on the 4th of July. He could not stay out of this old wagon that my mom uses for decoration in a flower bed!

I made this one of my daughter with Mama Mia's Sweet Dreams Princess kit.

Here is one of our dog on her 2nd birthday! We made her a cake and celebrated with her! I used Mama Mia's Too Many Pups kit. Love the colors of this fun kit!

I tried something new (for me anyway!) on this one, I just wanted to show my daughter's beautiful eyes, so I cropped the photo and hilighted her eyes. I really liked the result.

And Then Came You is a great kit by Helly. I used it to make this LO.

Helly also has a couple of new Mini Kits out. I love these.

New Site CT!

Things have been business as usual around here. We all have spring fever! We were spoiled by a couple of nice days and then they tell us we might get more snow this week! Oh well...

I just joined the Site CT for My Life and Scrap and I will start in April with designs by Mama Mia. If you haven't been there yet, check it out. The charity QP for the week is by me and you can get it here this week for free.

It was made with the Early Spring, the March collab kit by the MLAS designers.

This is a really fun kit by Helly, Hard Rock Mama. This is my LO, my kids rocking out, playing a littel Guitar Hero. They both have the tongue thing down!

Another fun kit from Delicious Scraps is Into Spring. Here is my LO of my daughter a couple of years back at an Easter egg hunt. She is very cool in her shades!

Wildcat Designs

I have also come up with another LO for Tracey at Wildcat Designs using her kit, God Made Dirt. This is my husband playing on his softball team. He is a fantastic first baseman. The team did excellent, and ended up 8th in the world tournament in Panama City, FL that year!

I love the kit Gabriel. It has such fantastic colors and it is Helly's first "boy" kit. This is my son with his first stitches. He was knocked down by our golden retriever into the deck stairs. Poor Baby. He played up the photo for me!

Another great kit from Helly is I'll Fly Away. I love this one because Red is my favorite color. I used her kit and a template from BB Designs at My Life and Scrap for their first Template Challenge. This is my beautiful daughter about 3 years ago.

I made this Layout with IC Licious. It was for the ScrapLit Challenge at MLAS. It is my daughter earlier this year outside in the snow.

This is one of my favorites. The kit is Love Is... It is a layout of my husband and daughter before the father daughter dance. I did this for a challenge too. It was for the lyrics challenge at MLAS. The song was Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer. I love that song.

And this one was for the Scripture challenge at GottaPixel. I used Vintage Licious. This kit is a great heritage kit. Beautiful soft colors.

Designs by Helly has a new kit coming! It is called Butterfly. It a gorgeous kit available on Valentines Day at the grand opening of My Life and Scrap. Check it out on February 14th!

This is my daughter on her 7th birthday.

This layout is also from a new kit called Spring Love available now at Delicious Scraps. Fabulous kit with 20 papers and 90 elements! The possibilities are endless. There is also a freebie add-on to this kit in the store.

I have been working with some fabulous kits for Designs by Helly. She has wonderfully unique style in her kits. You can find her kits here and can visit the Designs by Helly blog here.

This layout uses Helly's Steal My Breath kit. I used this Layout in a challenge at DigitalFreebies. It is my daughter on her 6th birthday. She is now 7 1/2 but in the last week has decided to start saying she's 8. Not until June honey!!

These two layouts were made with Helly's My Immortal kit. The colors and textures in this kit are fantastic. I loved working with it.

This one is both of my kids. These were taken a week ago on my son's third birthday. I love that these two are crazy about each other. The button on the bottom has a beautiful saying ... "...and the Lion fell in love with Lamb." It seems to fit these two well. My daughter wondered who was who. I told her it depended on the day!

This is my terrific husband and I this summer. I am one lucky girl!

The two layouts below are from Helly's kit If the Tiara Fits. I love this kit. It is everything girly. These are two of my favorite layouts. With a gorgeous kit and a gorgeous daughter, I can't go wrong!

My New Blog Site

My beautiful daughter cam into our bedroom early this morning, 3:55 am. Turned on lights, went to the bathroom and climbed on top of me to get in bed. Since she woke up, the rest of the house did too! After an hour of getting kicked, tapped and laid on, she finally fell back asleep only to have the dog crawl on the bed 5 minutes later to wake her up again. That is when my son started crying. I decided sleep was over rated anyway, got up to comfort him and then decided to play blog site. No better way to indulge myself at 4 am than to play on the computer!

I have recently began digital scrapping. I love it and spend way too much time on the computer with it! Oh well, there are some fantastic pages coming out of it! I would love to share them, and I will when I figure out how to post them!
